Work of art homework

I found this piece to be very successful towards some of the terms because being a three dimensional, this also shows a good form of line as well. This structure of the piano shows contouring because it shows the basic form of the piano without showing the keys or any other details to show the obvious. This shows a good variation of line since the wires for this go from thick to thin. Since this has thick, obvious, dark lines, this is also an example of explicit line because they're visible. The wires that are protruding out of the piano give them a sense of direction because they're going diagonal, horizontal, and vertical.

The name of the artist that has created this is Fritz Panzer. This is one out of his six other sculpture that are located in the Alberta Pane gallery located in Paris. His thought behind his work is to show three dimensional contour drawings with a gossamer like style. He wants the view to use memory to perceive the object associated with everyday seen objects. http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/10/view/23390/3d-wire-sculptures-by-fritz-panzer.html

  1. You should look up David Moreno. He too makes 3D objects out of wire except he makes his wire lines very straight rather than curved like Panzer's lines.
